PROJECTS
THE 2026 INDY 500
The 2026 Indy 500 marked the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500, and this recap video captures the energy and atmosphere of race day from multiple perspectives. Alongside fellow content creators, we documented the full experience, from the excitement of the Snake Pit and the intensity of Pit Lane to incredible views of the race itself. The goal was to capture not only the action on the track, but also the atmosphere, scale, and excitement that make the Indy 500 such a unique event. Filmed by Ryan Weidler, Tannor Marker, and Carter Vandermeer, and edited by Ryan Weidler.
MIST
MIST is a project that I wanted to use to push my creative limits. I worked on this edit for multiple days straight, constantly experimenting with new effects, plugins, transitions, and techniques to find new ways to make the footage feel more intense and cinematic. Every element, from the pacing and sound design to the visual effects and color, was carefully built around the energy of the game. MIST became less about simply creating a basketball highlight and more about experimenting, taking risks, and developing my editing style.
YE
This project was filmed entirely on an iPhone during Ye’s Chicago Night 1 concert. I wanted to challenge the idea of what mobile footage could look like and turn something captured on a phone into a cinematic, high-energy concert piece. I spent a significant amount of time in the edit experimenting with effects, transitions, color, sound design, and pacing to create a visual style that matched the intensity of the performance. The final video was designed to feel much larger and more polished than the footage would suggest, and one of the most common reactions has been surprise that the entire project was filmed on an iPhone. This project pushed me to be more creative with the tools I had and showed me how much can be achieved through editing and creative direction alone.
TAME IMPALA
This project is especially meaningful to me because Tame Impala has been an important part of my relationship with music and visual storytelling. The entire project was filmed on an iPhone, which gave me another opportunity to challenge myself and see how far I could push mobile footage through editing. I focused heavily on pacing, color, movement, effects, and sound design to create something immersive and almost dreamlike. I wanted the final piece to reflect what their music feels like to me while showing that strong creative direction and editing can turn even simple footage into something much more cinematic. This project allowed me to combine an artist that is personally important to me with the visual style I am continuing to develop as a filmmaker.
ICELAND
This project is a collection of cinematography captured during my trip through Iceland, where I wanted to capture the country’s landscapes in a cinematic and immersive way. Throughout the trip, I filmed everything from massive waterfalls and mountains to black sand beaches, open ocean, and the wildlife I encountered, including puffins. Rather than focusing on fast-paced edits, I wanted to let the environment speak for itself through still compositions, slow camera movements, and carefully framed shots. I focused on natural lighting, composition, scale, and atmosphere to create a sense of calm while still showcasing the incredible scale of Iceland’s landscape.
THROWBACK
This project is a recap of one of Huntington University’s biggest wins of the 2025–26 season, when the Foresters took down the No. 1-ranked and previously undefeated Grace College 72–65 in overtime. Although I created this edit months after the game, I felt the footage was too good to leave unused. Instead of making a traditional basketball recap, I decided to build the entire piece around a throwback VHS and retro aesthetic. I wanted the style to give the game a timeless, almost archival feeling, while still capturing the intensity and emotion of such a memorable night. The combination of vintage textures, effects, typography, sound design, and fast-paced basketball footage allowed me to turn an older collection of footage into something that felt completely new.
LAKE NORMAN TENNIS
This project is a recap of the Lake Norman Tennis Tournament, where I challenged myself to create an engaging piece around a sport that can naturally involve repetitive shots and sequences. Rather than relying solely on the action itself, I focused on using editing to create variety and maintain momentum throughout the video. I experimented with pacing, quick cuts, slow motion, sound design, camera angles, and transitions to give each sequence its own energy. The goal was to make the viewer feel the intensity and emotion of the tournament while keeping the video visually interesting from beginning to end. This project pushed me to think beyond simply capturing the sport and instead find creative ways to tell a story through the edit.
HUNTINGTON SEASON RECAP
This project was created after my professor challenged me to step outside of the short-form content I typically create and produce a long-form recap of Huntington University’s basketball season. The video combines interviews, game footage, behind-the-scenes moments, and broadcaster audio collected throughout the season to tell a larger story. Because the video was significantly longer than what I normally create, one of my biggest challenges was finding ways to maintain engagement while continuously building anticipation. The goal was to make the viewer feel invested in the team and excited to see what would come next, rather than simply watching a collection of highlights.
BASKETBALL HYPE VIDEO
This project is a hype video for Huntington University Women’s Basketball, combining polished Media Day footage with high-energy game footage to introduce the team and build excitement around the season. I wanted to create a visual contrast between the controlled, intentional look of the Media Day shots and the fast-paced intensity of competition. Through quick pacing, dynamic transitions, sound design, and carefully timed cuts, I worked to make the two different types of footage feel like one cohesive piece. The goal was to capture the personality of the team while creating a video that feels energetic, cinematic, and exciting from the very first frame.
VOLLEYBALL HYPE VIDEO
This project is a hype video for Huntington University Volleyball, combining polished Media Day footage with high-energy game footage to introduce the team and build excitement around the season. I wanted to create a strong visual contrast between the controlled, intentional look of the Media Day shots and the speed and intensity of competition. Through quick pacing, dynamic transitions, sound design, and carefully timed cuts, I worked to make the two different styles of footage feel like one cohesive piece. The goal was to capture the personality and energy of the team while creating a video that feels cinematic, powerful, and exciting from the very first frame.
BASEBALL HYPE VIDEO
This project is a hype video for Huntington University Baseball, combining polished Media Day footage with game footage and live broadcast audio to introduce the team and build excitement around the season. I wanted to create a contrast between the controlled, cinematic look of Media Day and the raw energy of live competition. The broadcaster footage and audio gave me an opportunity to incorporate real moments and commentary from the games, helping the video feel more authentic while also adding another layer to the storytelling. Through quick pacing, dynamic transitions, sound design, and carefully timed cuts, I worked to build momentum and make the piece feel like more than a traditional team introduction. The goal was to capture the personality, intensity, and atmosphere of Huntington Baseball while creating a cinematic video that gets viewers excited for the season.
GRABER
GRABER is an edit featuring basketball athlete Alex Graber during his high school career and was one of the first major player edits I created. This project became an important turning point in developing the editing style I continue to use for basketball today. I wanted to move beyond simply putting together highlights and instead experiment with pacing, effects, transitions, sound design, and visual storytelling to create something that felt more intense and personal to the athlete. A lot of the techniques and creative choices I experimented with in this edit became the foundation for how I approach basketball edits now. GRABER is especially meaningful to me because it represents an early stage of finding my identity as an editor and learning what I wanted my basketball work to look and feel like.
HALLOWEEN NIGHT
This project was created for Homestead High School’s Halloween Theme Night, where I wanted to create a fun and high-quality video for the student section by recreating the atmosphere of Stranger Things. I built the video around several recognizable elements from the show, including a recreation of the iconic opening Dungeons & Dragons board game scene and the scene featuring the floating music player, incorporating them into the story of the video. I also created a shot of the Mind Flayer towering over Homestead High School. I wanted the video to feel like more than a typical student-section promo, combining comedy, recognizable references, cinematography, editing, and VFX to create something that felt cinematic while still being fun for the students watching it.
BLACKOUT
BLACKOUT was my first student-section video, created to build excitement and hype for Homestead High School’s Blackout Night. One of the biggest challenges of the project was coordinating a large number of students and getting everyone involved to work together for the shots. I wanted the video to feel bigger than a typical school promo, using the size and energy of the student section as the centerpiece. I also incorporated sports cars into several shots to add another visual element and give the video a more cinematic feel. This project was an early opportunity for me to combine creative direction, cinematography, editing, and large-scale coordination while creating something specifically designed to get an audience excited for an event.
